I absolutely love when my families want to do a little something different for their portraits, so I was super excited when this group wanted to do some amusement park style shots at Fantasy Island on Long Beach Island!

This session has it all – cotton candy, lolly pops, boardwalk style games of chance, and a perfect retro-inspired wardrobe to match all the fun. This session was super colorful and to say that it was fun to shoot would be an understatement. Fantasy Island is crowded all days of the week during summers on LBI, so we did have to work around some crowds, but it was completely worth it – and the spectators really add to the realness of this family session. Ironically enough, the last time that I had visited Fantasy Island was probably around 25+ years ago, so it was essentially like visiting it for the first time (though I do drive by it often). It is so nice that Long Beach Island offers something like this park for some good old fashioned family fun. Would you really be in New Jersey if you didn’t embrace a boardwalk style night after your beach day?
