Candid & Emotional Wedding at Crystal Plaza

July 26, 2024

I went a little overboard with this blog but I couldn’t help myself. Sarah and Brian had a wedding for the books and I mean that literally because I know Sarah loves books (check out her seating chart and table decor below). Sarah had a vision for this wedding, and I was so excited to help her pull it off! We went for a very organic feel with the photos, which was complemented by several rolls of disposable film added in to the coverage (you can check those out at the end of this post)!

The party was lit. I don’t know if I’m young enough to use that term anymore, but I’m going to try to get away with it.

We had battled rain all day for the portraits. The initial forecast for the day had been dire – but thru sheer willpower, Sarah had somehow bargained with the weather and the rain held off all day until after the 7pm ceremony (when the heavens opened up and torrential downpours ensued).

How did you meet?

“We met in high school! Our lockers were right next to each other, but we never spoke. In tenth grade, we had health class together and we were paired up to do a project on STD’s (I am not even kidding lol… not very romantic!). Brian asked me out three times, and eventually I said yes. We have shared so many milestones together since then – from learning how to drive a car to learning how to buy a home. Growing up together was nothing short of magical.

What was the proposal like?

We planned a huge trip to Hawaii to celebrate me finishing law school / passing the bar exam. Brian had decided to use this opportunity to propose – but realized at the airport he forgot the ring. He frantically called my mom at 5am and told her she needed to overnight the ring to Hawaii, since he was planning to propose the next day. My mom ran to Fedex and pulled off a miracle, because the next night, while we watched the sunset, Brian proposed.

What do you like to do together?

I know this is a bad answer – but literally everything. I can honestly say we have just as much fun sitting on a beach in Hawaii with pina coladas in our hands as we did sitting in tenth grade health class passing silly notes back and forth. We have been together for over 11 years, and we still have so much fun doing anything and everything. Add in Kevin, our 170 pound Great Dane, and it is pure perfection.
