Dreamy Hoboken Wedding at The Kolo Klub | Hoboken Wedding Photographer

January 24, 2019

I know I always start off these blog entries raving about these weddings – but oh my you guys – this Hoboken wedding at The Kolo Klub was a perfect season ender! Being that I usually am not shooting in the city, this was an awesome change for me. I also want to add that it was cold – but Paige and Jeff totally toughed it out. It was also windy, which made for some veil magic (and also some rogue veil action here and there).

We started off the day at Paige’s parents house in Staten Island. I want to admit that prior to the day, I had never been to Staten Island. I always enjoy seeing new places and new things, so I enjoyed getting a taste of city life from a new standpoint (I know all you real city people are laughing at me right now). From there we headed over to the church in Hoboken. Ahhhh it was such a gorgeous church.  I say all the time that I am a big fan of church ceremonies from a photographic standpoint. There is always such grandeur and this one did not disappoint. Really beautiful architecture and interior ambiance.

After Paige and Jeff were pronounced man and wife we headed over to the Hoboken Train Station. I’m not even going to begin to go into how much of a labor of love it was to get permission to shoot inside of this station, but it was so worth it. Especially in light of the cold that I mentioned earlier. It was truly the perfect spot for portraits. Despite these photos making the station look kind of empty, I just want to let everyone know that it was most certainly not empty. We were just shooting around everyone!

After the train station we headed over to the park where you could see the NYC skyline – what a treat! Definitely something that I don’t get to shoot every day, and I loved the different background. We were absolutely freezing (it was 12/29) but everyone acted like it was just a day at the beach and I loved them for it.

After the skyline, we went over to Paige and Jeff’s reception venue, the Kolo Klub. In case you don’t know – it’s a cozy brewery in Hoboken. Their cocktail hour style reception was delicious all night long, and Lion and Tiger Band kept the dance floor positively hopping. We got to hang out with some past couples who were friends of Paige and Jeff, and all in all it was truly a perfect day!
