Stone Harbor New Jersey Photographer | Family Photos on the Beach

January 3, 2018

So this session was my first time ever in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. I pride myself on getting around to a wide variety of different beaches for photos (Long Beach Island and towns therein, as well as Wildwood, Cape May, Ortley, Seaside, Lavallette, Sea Isle City, and Spring Lake – just to name a few!) so I can’t believe that Stone Harbor had never previously made the list! Usually, if there is a beach in New Jersey, chances are very good that I have done a session there!
Either way – I was super impressed with Stone Harbor the second that I arrived! Ray and I had a killer meal at Quahog’s Seafood Shack prior to the session, and I’ve got to admit that we have considering re-visiting Stone Harbor strictly to eat there! We love it when restaurants totally understand photographer life, and they had exceptional service, we ate an awesome meal, and we were in and out in a half hour! No, I have not been paid to promote Quahog’s (but if you guys would like to pay me…).
I loved the quiet small beach town vibe of Stone Harbor. In comparison to the hustle and bustle of Seaside, which is close to me, Stone Harbor had a very laid back and family friendly vibe. Definitely the perfect spot for families with kids to visit!
We seriously lucked out with this session and ended up with one of exactly 3 days a summer where there is absolutely no wind on the beach. I can judge wind by how I have to wear my hair for a session – and it was down. I have waist-length hair, so that’s really saying something! It was a gorgeous evening with a perfect sky (and delicious food). What more could a photographer possibly ask for?!
