Barnegat Light Engagement Session | Long Beach Island Photographer

September 29, 2017

Hi, I’m Kelly, and I’m addicted to doing engagement sessions at Barnegat Light. Admission is the first step towards, a cure, right? All kidding aside, Barnegat Light is definitely a surefire winner for family and engagement sessions alike, mostly because it gives you all those beachy feels but with a little something extra. I mean, you can totally have the beach if you want it – but you can also have some killer ocean views from the trails, as well as some really nice vantage points of the lighthouse if you’re willing to do a little walking. Anyone who has ever done a session with me knows that I love

to explore.

I also love that just about every time I’ve gone there, I’ve gotten something unique that wasn’t there the time before. For one session, the tide was super high and it was creating these gorgeous tide pools that literally glistened pink during sunset. For Erin and Nick’s session, the tide was super low. I was initially sad that the tide pools weren’t there, but quickly realized that we had another awesome opportunity to basically use the tiny beach right next to the jetty at the foot of the lighthouse for some extremely epic photos. I’ve never actually seen that spot accessible, so I was stoked that we were able to use it.
Erin had told me that she was sure that she probably wasn’t going to be good at photos. LIES. All lies. Her and Nick were ridiculously natural in front of the camera. They also nailed the ‘serious face’ which is truly a talent. Also, Erin wore a dress with pockets, which is basically the best type of dress in the universe. I cannot wait for their 2018 Cape May wedding at The Grand Hotel.
