I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – if I had to declare a beach my ‘home beach’ it would probably be Island Beach. I have some very very early memories of my parents taking me to Island Beach by boat when I was very small. There were few boats at the anchorage at that point – there was no boardwalk at all. Just a trail that was filled with sharp holly leaves. You had to *really* want it to cross over to the beach because stepping on holly leaves hidden in the sand is a unique sort of surprise and pain.
For everything that has changed there, much has remained the same. It’s still one of my favorite beaches to shoot at because it really gives you those ‘untouched’ vibes. In a world where so much has been developed and is very crowded – it’s always nice to find a spot where sometimes it can feel like you’re the only person there.
