I have to admit, I’ve been falling in love with winter weddings lately! From fur shawls to long lace sleeves, there are so many beautiful ways to have your wedding feel like an elegant winter wonderland.

This wedding was extra special, because Jodie is actually the daughter of my favorite high school teacher! I don’t even really want to talk about how long ago high school was for me at this point, but I remember Jodie as a young girl. I never would have dreamed at that point in my life (when I was very intent on becoming a defense attorney) that years later I would be a wedding photographer and would end up doing the photography on her wedding day! Needless to say being able to take these photos for Jodie and her family was an enormous honor.

We had been a bit worried leading up to this day because the weather was just not looking favorable. Initially the forecast was intense wind and rain – which ultimately did end up happening in the morning, and dashed our plans of heading towards the water for some portraits. The good news, is that there were plenty of amazing photo opportunities right at The Mainland, so I still ended loving every single one of these photos! The sun did eventually come out as well – just at the right time – so we got some golden light (always a plus).

Jodie and Jack met in 11th grade. They had actually been in the same school together since elementary school! Jack asked Jodie to be his junior prom date, and the rest is history.

The proposal happened on the beach in Jamaica with all their friends (I’m jealous, not going to lie).
