True confession: before I was a photographer I had never visited Stone Harbor. I had heard so many friends talking about Stone Harbor and Avalon and Sea Isle City, but they were just fantastical places that were ‘south’ of me. I ventured down to Stone Harbor for my first time a few years ago for a shoot, and ate Quahog’s when I got there – and man, I’ve been hooked ever since. Having grown up in a beach town (and continuing to live in one) Stone Harbor feels like home. I love the main strip with all of the shops and eateries, but I also love how otherwise quiet and unsuspecting the rest of the area is. The two beach towns that I consider home (Seaside and LBI) are both so crazy busy in the summer, but any time I have visited Stone Harbor it just seems more laid back (it may be because I am always there during the week – but who knows?).
Either way, I have my clients to thank for introducing me to this gorgeous area.
This session was truly magical, and the colors were just killing me. It takes a certain sunset to turn the Atlantic Ocean a perfect teal, and we certainly had it on this July night!
