Absolutely love Meaghan and Lex! Such an amazing couple. Meag just has such an easy and fun way about her, and I absolutely loved her neutral color choices and timeless style! One of her bridesmaids had even custom designed the overskirt that went over Meaghan’s gown! It was such a special and personal touch, and I love that Gianna got to help Meaghan into her gown for some photos.
Clark’s Landing was the perfect backdrop for some nautical photos, and we were able to get a gorgeous soft sunset on the roof deck!
How did you meet?
Well – we actually went to high school together! However we didn’t know each other in high school. Lex was a senior when I was a freshman but I was friendly with Lex’s two younger brothers, Rein & Thijs. Thijs and my brother Colin grew up playing rec soccer together so even our parents were familiar with each other. Fast forward to 2019 and I see Lex is back in NJ (we were at the Parker House). The only interaction had was that we locked eyes as he was leaving. Fast forward to 2020 lock down and I hit him with a follow on instagram. He followed me back and we were DMing almost instantly, but not constantly, just here and there. When the summer got warmer I was at the beach in Belmar and posted a photo of my view. Lex messaged me back with ‘the bars are closed but mine’s open, why don’t you come back for a drink when you’re done at the beach?’. So I went and now here we are nearly 5 years later to the date!
What was the proposal like?
Us and a bunch of our friends were invited out to Greece for a wedding. The plan was to vacation prior to the wedding in Mykonos and then fly to Athens for the wedding. About a month prior to the trip Lex told the group that he was planning on proposing in Mykonos. With some guidance it was decided that “white night” would be the big night! That morning Lex couldn’t sit still and went with Danny, Aly, and Dave for a walk around town. Really they were in search of flowers on the desert island of Mykonos. The girls hired a photographer “to take group photos” of everyone. We had a chef coming into the airbnb to cook us some authentic Greek food, the vibes were high and after we were going to party it up in town! While the girls were getting our photo opps in Lex sneaked away to grab the flowers and the ring. The music changed to something romantic I saw him walking up the front stairs with flowers and that’s when I knew!
