This was such a special wedding! Absolutely love Kristen & Matt – they are so kind, and their wedding day was very personalized and special (with lots of portrait time to show off the beautiful grounds and lake at the venue)!

All day long as we went thru portraits, we were keeping an eye on the radar. There were a few pop up storms that all seemed to be missing us. Fortunately, we managed to get just about every single photo outside. Sadly – just before ceremony as we were doing family photos, one of the storm clouds did hit, so Kristen and Matt made the choice to do their ceremony underneath the eave outside the reception space (which is still a beautiful location).

With a bit of luck, there was a later rainstorm during the reception that produced a beautiful rainbow! I managed to grab the couple, and with the help of a clear umbrella, we were able to get some gorgeous photos with the rain and rainbow out on the dock! Truly one of those opportunities that only occasionally present themselves, but are 100% worthwhile when they do!

What was the proposal like?

Matthew proposed during one of our walks at the Atlantic Highlands Marina, which has always been one of our favorite places to go together. It was simple, but perfect, just the two of us in a spot that already held so many special memories.
