I love me a good beach wedding! This one was particularly exciting because The Windrift had basically just been redone, and we were one of the first weddings there! I believe we may have even been the very first wedding that was in their new bridal salon (the gorgeous white space that Haley got ready in). It was truly such a gorgeous day, and the new Icona Windrift was such a pleasure to photograph in!
April beach wedding can be a bit of a gamble sometimes – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The beach is particularly volatile and subject to winds and temperature. It is the last place to warm up in the spring, and one of the first places to get cold come fall. If it’s 70 inland in spring, it’s likely to be around 45 at the beach (might be a slight exaggeration but honestly maybe not). We so lucked out and got the actual best weather for this day!! The wind literally changed JUST as we were finishing up portraits after ceremony. You can see where Haley lost her veil. It was an actual night and day difference temperature and comfort-wise!
Haley and Jim are so effortlessly chic and cool, and I wish I could be them. This was reflected over course of their entire day and I was loving every minute!
Haley and Jim – thank you so much for sharing your story with me and letting me take these photos for you!! It was such an incredible day!
