Long Beach Island Engagement Photographer | Jordan & Alan Engaged

August 4, 2017

From the second that Jordan emailed me I knew that photographing her and Alan was going to be a blast! As it turns out, they also have a boat and often hang out at the same places that I frequent by boat. They are both also active duty military, and I seriously have so much respect for anyone who is able to do that for our country!
Jordan and Alan started off in some dressy clothes to kick off the session, and we wandered the trails at Barnegat Light waiting for the sun to lower a bit. Jordan was such a trooper and battled the sand while wearing heels – and made it look super good. I was also semi-obsessed with all their tattoos. Their matching fishing hooks were epic. After being glam for a bit, they changed into their uniforms for some sunset photos near the lighthouse. There was a dark and imposing cloud that threatened us a bit the whole time, but we managed to get in the entire session without a single drop of rain.
Probably the best part of the session was at the end, when some children came over to Jordan and Alan and asked if they were really in the military. They said they were, and the kids earnestly asked if they could all take a photo together. Just the sweetest thing ever. If you’re ever wondering who the real MVPs are, seriously – it’s these two right here. I am still not quite sure how I end up with the best clients ever.
Can’t wait to see them out on the water at our favorite spot, and wishing them safety, as each of them was deployed just a couple of days after this session took place. They’ll be getting married in Tennessee next year.
Location: Barnegat Light State Park, New Jersey
