Adorable Softball Themed Engagement Session | Manasquan Engagement Photographer

June 13, 2017

I’m not super athletic. My ball throwing abilities are pretty limited, and I’m really not that sure-footed. In fact, with shoes on I’m downright clumsy. The only hope I have of not falling over myself is when I’m barefoot, and even then it’s kind of questionable.
When I was a kid, I was forced to play many a terrible game in gym class (yes, I totally hated gym class), and I remember a specific instance where I was forced to play softball. Me playing softball can be best summed up as ‘avoiding the ball’ because I honestly want nothing to do with it. In fact, it’s generally a lot better for the team if I completely avoid the ball. Any way, on one day in particular, the ball was coming for me. I’m talking – it was literally coming straight at me, and arguably should have fallen right in my mitt. It was dead to rights. However – because I can’t catch for my life, it instead beaned me in my jaw, and dislocated it.
Needless to say, I have not played softball since. However – I was super thrilled to be able to do this adorable softball themed engagement session. Mainly because I got to enjoy all the coolness of being athletic, but without having to attempt to catch any flying balls.
When I first met Carly I knew that she was my bride. She got just as excited as I did the first time that I saw my new heirloom albums (note – they are to. die. for.) and I could totally tell that she got my photographic vision. I literally wanted to cry with happiness after I met these two because they were such a perfect match for me!
Their session started off with some softball, and then they glammed it up just a bit for the second half of their engagement photos at the Manasquan Reservoir. I had actually never been, and couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was! I have always seen those iconic photos of sunset with a million sticks in front of it, and never knew where that place was. Well. Now I do.
