Late Summer Sage Wedding at Hamilton Manor

July 24, 2025

What a beautiful day at The Hamilton Manor this was! Janis and Jeff are from Florida, so the late summer heat in NJ had nothing on them! Also – SLAY JANIS SLAY because her bridal look left me wishing that everyone would wear a neck scarf! So effortless and elegant. Naturally, when their two doggos visited for some photos (and also to attend the ceremony, obviously) I loved that they were both named after Avengers characters, Carter and Banner.

I loved the way that Janis and Jeff interact – you can tell they are best friends and I so enjoyed getting to photograph them!

I’ll let Janis tell you their story in her own words!

How did you meet?

We first met at our hometown bar on Christmas Eve Eve (December 23rd, 2018) after both initially being there to sneak away from family and catch-up with mutual friends that were home for the holidays. And although at first Jeff was much too shy to hold a conversation beyond the occasional 3 words, his piercing blue eyes intrigued me enough to accept his ‘follow’ request on Instagram later that night. But then it wouldn’t be for another few weeks that he’d finally work up the courage to send me a DM at which point I simply demanded for his number cause I was over being a patient woman.

What was the proposal like?

The proposal was done on the Asbury Boardwalk just out front of the Stone Pony, a venue frequented by both of us. The marquee outside the Pony had a proposal message displayed out front and Jeff waited for Janis to “accidentally” run into him out front once her friend brought her there after getting their nails done. Once Janis saw Jeff the gears started turning but it wasn’t until he got down on one knee that she realized what was going on (she wouldn’t notice the proposal sign for another 30 minutes).
