Golden Winter Beach Engagement Photos

August 16, 2024

Lisa and Steven and some golden winter light goodness!

I get asked often if you can still do engagement photos on the beach in the winter in New Jersey. The answer is yes – but it can be a bit situational.

My priority is always your comfort first. I have been doing photography for 13 years – which is long enough to have done some sessions where the weather was just not cooperating. With engagement sessions, we do have the luxury of rescheduling – so my vote is usually if you’re not going to be somewhat comfortable, we should reschedule. In the summer, you can usually handle some wind, or even a little intermittent drizzle. In the winter, winds over 15mph or drizzle can make a session intolerable. My general rule is wind over 15mph, precipitation, or tempts under 20, can make for a very tough session, and we should probably reschedule.

When the weather is running with us – winter can produce some of the most gorgeous sessions! The light is dreamy, the beaches aren’t crowded, and it can almost feel like spring!

Can’t wait for Lisa and Steven to get married at the beautiful Crystal Point Yacht Club later this year!

My photography experience is centered around you, and bringing your unique story to life through vibrant, joyful, honest, and elevated images.

Photography has always been my passion, and a profession I have always felt so honored to be able to call my own.
