I’m not into winter, but I am into winter light. There’s just something about the sun angle in January that makes the whole day golden, and actual golden hour downright buttery. I find myself sometimes almost pulling over the car when I see beautiful winter light filtering thru a tree I’m passing by and wishing I had a couple to tuck underneath it for a quick photo sesh.

Berkeley Island is a spot I grew up loving. I hadn’t really considered it as a photo location until one evening I was there with the dogs a few years ago and the light was just bonkers good. I had come the following day and brought a camera, and I was amazed at just how magical the light was. Fast forward a couple of years, and I now regularly use it for engagement sessions.

Randi and Mike finally got a good day for a session after two misses due to wind and weather – and whoa did we get the perfect January day! So excited for these two to just get married already at one of my favorite venues – The Mill Lakeside Manor!
