From the second I met Joanna and Ray we connected instantly! We shot their engagement session on what felt like the coldest/windiest January day at Barnegat Light ever – and they still managed to make the photos look effortless. Joanna and Ray met while Ray was lifeguarding, and there were several nods to the beach patrol at the wedding. Joanna is an art teacher (and also an amazing artist) and handmade so much of her decor – even painting a gorgeous canvas of the Abbie Holmes Estate for guests to sign.

Both their ceremony and reception felt like an ethereal fairyland. The springhouse chapel is amazing even without decor – but Joanna’s whimsical touches really made it something out of a fairytale. I was also completely obsessed with Joanna’s illusion long-sleeved gown. It was so elegant and matched perfectly with the styling of her wedding! I love veils and I was so happy that Joanna selected a cathedral veil – we had just enough wind to really make it fly and swoop, and we got so many amazing photos with it.
