Playa Del Carmen Destination Wedding | Day-After Destination Wedding Session at Iberostar Paraiso Lindo

December 13, 2018

As though their destination wedding wasn’t enough magic, I got to do a killer day-after session with Brittany and Chris at Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in beautiful Playa Del Carmen Mexico! To up the ante, Brittany wanted to trash her dress in the Caribbean sea, and then smash cake in Chris’s face (make that an entire half a cake). I knew I liked her. You guys know I’m down for whatever you want to do, so I figured we would wander around the grounds at the Lindo for some portraits before getting in the water. Honestly, while I was shooting in Mexico I wasn’t 100% sure how I was ever going to come back and shoot in New Jersey again and feel the same way about it. There is something about the color and light in Mexico that is just warm and golden literally all day long. Also I loved all of the architecture and the paint colors and those things really lent themselves to the way I shoot. It helped that I was able to shoot this entire session barefoot.

While we were shooting these photos there was totally an iguana that was just wandering through right by us, and I realized that New Jersey is most definitely missing wild iguanas just roaming around doing their thing. I will also miss the coatis greatly, and I did purchase a stuffed coati that now sits on my desk (as well as copious amounts of tequila and mezcal complete with the worm because how could I not?).

Any way, I didn’t expect anything less from these two when they full on took a swim in the Caribbean in their wedding clothes, and then Chris voluntarily got full of (pretty delicious, might I add) cake. It was the perfect end to my Mexico trip!
