Blush Pink Brooklyn Rooftop Wedding

September 20, 2024

No sleep ’til Brooklyn! Sorry. I had to do it. And if you know me and you follow me on Instagram, you know I literally made an entire reel of this wedding with us periodically singing the Beastie Boys. Am I dating myself?

This was my first trip to Brooklyn, and honestly – it all worked out perfectly. I found ideal parking directly next to the venue, the uber arrived in under 2 minutes, the temperature was a little warm but completely acceptable for a May wedding. We spent the ceremony and reception on a gorgeous rooftop overlooking the Manhattan Skyline – it was definitely one for the books.

Michelle and Jonny were so much fun to hang out with. We actually walked from Domino Park to their venue. I had not realized the park was somewhat iconic and located in the shadow of the old Domino Sugar Factory. It was nice to soak up some history and enjoy the sites!

Michelle’s Dad had a special surprise during the reception, and had hired a dance troop to perform during the beginning of the ceremony which was so fun!

I’ll let Michelle tell you about how they met in her own words:

“Jonny and I met on a Jewish dating app in 2015. We were both 20 years old and texted back and forth for a while, but didn’t end up meeting because of our distance (I lived in Brooklyn and he lived in Long Island). We reconnected in 2018 and the rest is history! He has been my rock ever since— but most importantly in 2021 when my mom was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Jonny stayed with me for nights on end as my family and I figured out our next steps in my mom’s healthcare. Now, in 2022, my mom’s scans show no evidence of disease and we couldn’t be more happy!

On our one year anniversary, Jonny and I went on a trip upstate NY and visited a farm called Mariaville goat farm. It’s a huge beautiful piece of land for all of these adorable Pygmy goats, a pig, and a lamb. The owners are so lovely and the goats are so friendly and sweet! We had the best time cuddling the goats and later we even adopted the nicknames “goatie” for each other. Jonny ended up proposing at this same farm on another visit because we love it so much! He preplanned it with the owner and they had set up chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries, and flowers!”
