Beachy Summer Wedding in Cape May New Jersey | South Jersey Photographer

July 26, 2018

In case you are unfamiliar with it, Cape May is quite possibly the most perfect, quaint, small town in South Jersey. In fact, me saying ‘south jersey’ would be a bit of an understatement, as Cape May is the absolute last stop in New Jersey before Delaware. I hadn’t been to Cape May in quite a long while before Erin and Nick’s wedding, and visiting felt a bit like stepping into Amity Island, sans sharks (if you are not a die-hard Jaws fan like myself, Amity Island is the town in Jaws).

Either way, I digress. We started off the day at The Grand Hotel. Erin was in her room getting ready, and Nick was downstairs hanging at the pool. One of my favorite things about Erin (amongst many things) is her candidness. Whatever Erin is thinking, she says. I love it. When she showed me her Badly Mischka heels, I nearly died because they were the most perfect wedding shoes ever. They paired so perfectly with her pink bouquets and the other adorable trinkets that she brought. I had an absolute field day doing her detail photos. Erin’s dress didn’t disappoint, either. It literally looked like crushed shells on the shoreline, and it was the absolute perfect complement to her beach ceremony.

With their toes in the sand, Erin and Nick exchanged vows. The ceremony had a single scary moment when Nick dropped the rings in the sand, but we recovered and no rings were harmed or lost (phew). The bridal party was full of troopers because the sand was burning all of us, and it was really, really hot out – but they didn’t complain not once.

I was totally thrilled that Erin and Nick were willing to sneak out of their reception for some evening photos on the beach. The sky put on a show for us and just went crazy with all of these pinks and purples. It was truly the perfect end to the perfect day! Did I mention how much I love these two? All the happiness in the world to you guys (and Ben, too, of course)!
